Meet Margaret

Margaret is the owner of Heronholly Studio Salon, a beauty and creative space in the Old Port. She has spent much of her 21 year career teaching stylists across the US and Canada precision hair cutting and styling techniques. She has worked as a platform artist for national leadership shows for Eufora International. Her work has been featured in industry publications. She has been a stylist at runway shows in Los Angeles, San Diego, and New York Fashion Week.

Margaret is best known for creating practical and maintainable hairstyles. She has a passion, natural ability and honed skill for learning about people and tuning into what makes them feel and look their best.

Unfortunately I wasn’t ready for how gray it actually was when the color grew out. I looked very pale. I read that Margaret, the owner of Heronholly, offered what is called gray blending. The process added some depth to my gray hair which I like plus it will look very natural as it grows out and I decide to have it done again. Margaret is a sweetheart. I felt so very comfortable having her do my hair and made an appointment for a cut in a few weeks. I should also mention her shop which is lovely. A mix of old and new which is very relaxing. I loved it."

It is my pleasure to welcome you to Heronholly Studio Salon in Portland, Maine. I truly love to uplift everyone I meet—it feels like a mission in this life for me. Everyone deserves a space in their busy hardworking lives to be seen, heard and appreciated for who they are. I dreamed up Heronholly Studio Salon as a destination for just that. Hairstyles are an extension of who we are, how we show up in this world and an avenue for both self expression and comfort. My passion is to learn more about your lifestyle to curate a style that expresses your individuality. It’s a joy to collaborate with you when you are passionate about ideas that you would like to see come to fruition. I love to be apart of maintaining styles that are comfortable to you and tweaking when a little change is being craved by the soul. There are an infinite amount of styles for each individual that evolves with time and conveys a journey of growth and happiness.
